Dirty Diamonds: oldies but goodies
Posted by keepitcoming on March 2, 2006
The final chapter in the Dirty Diamonds trilogy hit the shelves on Tuesday in 2CD form, and boy is it good. Compiled by the D*I*R*T*Y guys, whose website is a must-listen and a must-read, this series features unearthed gems and unexpected alliances in music of all genres, ranging from timeless soundtracks (Nino Rota, François de Roubaix, Ennio Morricone…) to leftfield covers and sampled songs (more on that later) to the dance classics posted below. These three tracks are respectively from 1982, 1989 and 1985, and yet they haven’t aged a bit, still efficient as ever in making you get down on the dancefloor or bang on your steering wheel.
- Soft Cell “So (Extended)” Dirty Diamonds III, 2006
- Frankie Knuckles “Your Love” Dirty Diamonds II, 2004
- Grace Jones “Pull Up To The Bumper (Larry Levan Garage Mix)” Dirty Diamonds, 2003

I think there’s a problem on Frankie Knuckles YSI link.
Just the other day I was thinking how I would love to hear again Your Love. Thanks.
